Phumzile Luthuli – Group Financial Accountant

As Financial Accountant at Pamodzi Group, Phumzile Luthuli is responsible for executing the organisation’s accounting and auditing function. She has over 10 years of experience in accounting and auditing and previously worked for Mawenzi Resources and Finance Company (Pty) Ltd. 

Luthuli is a B.Com graduate from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She served her articles with Ngubane & Co. Chartered Accountants where she was involved in the external, internal and forensic audits. 

Andile Apleni – Business Development Executive

Andile Apleni brings a wealth of experience in defence systems and related technologies to Pamodzi Group, earned while serving in various capacities at the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) and state-owned defence equipment manufacturer Denel. Before his appointment as Business Development Executive at Pamodzi, he was Senior Staff Officer of Integrated Management and Processes at SANDF, and Second in Command of the military contingent that was deployed to Sudan from 2009 to 2010. Apleni is the former Group Marketing Manager at Denel. He has also worked as a Project Manager at the Department of Water Affairs, a Marketing Manager at Grinaker Electronics Systems, as well as Chief Operating Officer at 17 Shaft Conference Centre. 

Apleni is fluent in Russian, having spent six years studying in the Eastern European country. He holds different qualifications in military affairs from Russia and the Ukraine as well as a Post Graduate Diploma from UCT Graduate School of Business and an Advanced Executive Management Programme from Singapore School of Business. He has completed a Counter Intelligence course at Fontana.

Erika Toto Tlaba – Manager: Human Resources and Administration

Erika Toto Tlaba has been with Pamodzi Group since 2004, occupying different roles. She has worked for companies across different sectors. These include Liberty Life, NMG Consultants & Actuaries, and Esselenpark (a business unit of Transnet). 

She started her career as a Junior Secretary in 1996 after obtaining her National Diploma in Office Administration. In 2005, she completed her B.Tech in Business Administration. Tlaba has a B.Com Honours in Human Resource Management at the University of Johannesburg.
