Transformation is in the very DNA of our company. Pamodzi Group is about real transformation, beyond just complying with official codes and sectoral charters. A good example of this is the way in which we empowered and transformed Foodcorp. When we took over ownership of the company we set in place a pioneering share scheme at the time, whereby the employees of the company across the board – the vast majority of whom are black – would own 20% of the company’s shares. They are therefore empowered and incentivised in a direct way – as the company grows, so does their real wealth.
